Housefly Life Cycle
This is the life cycle of housefly, Musca domestica,:
The housefly lays eggs underground. 23 hours later the eggs hatch into first-stage
maggots/larvas. First-instar larva grow into second-stage maggot in 27 hours, after that it become
third-stage maggot in 22 hours. It still lives underground. After 130 hours, the maggots change into
pupa. Pupa lives underground also. Pupa change into housefly in 143 hours.
